Concepts4glass was founded in 2017 by Michael Elstner, Florian Doebbel and Steffen Schaefer. We are a team of glass experts and structural engineers committed to the glass and façade industry with all its diversity. We are joint by the passion and enthusiasm to work with glass in architectural applications. For us, the material glass is an essential element in contemporary architecture. MICHAEL ELSTNER

Michael Elstner is partner and managing director of concepts4glass GmbH & Co. KG. After training as a glazier, he studied in 2000 to become a state-certified glass construction technician. In 2004 he completed his further education as a master glazier. In 2014 he was appointed as a publicly appointed expert for the glazier trade of the Chamber of Crafts of Lower Bavaria / Upper Palatinate. Michael Elstner has been working in the glazier trade and the glass industry for over 20 years. For more than 15 years he has been head of application technology for an internationally operating glass manufacturer and glass processor. In addition, the company represents in the Glazier Guild, in the technical advisory board of the glazier trade in Hadamar and as a member of the board of the Federal Association of Flat Glass, the Quality Association for Multi-Pane Insulated Glass and the Institute for Window Technology (ift Rosenheim). In 2018 Michael finished his training as a „Quality Management Specialist (QMS-TÜV).

FLORIAN DOEBBEL

Florian Doebbel is partner and managing director of concepts4glass GmbH & Co. KG. After his education at the Technical University Dresden with graduation in civil engineering, structural engineering Florian has been working with various responsibilities as a project engineer, consultant and business developer with a focus on structural glass and structural silicone glazing applications for enterprises in Germany, Switzerland and the United States since 2005.

STEFFEN SCHÄFER

After completing his training as a carpenter, he studied architecture at the FH Mainz and at the same time trained as a master carpenter at the Rhein-Hessen Chamber of Crafts. After graduating in 2004-2006, he collected further practical experience as a freelance project worker in various architecture offices and as a carpenter. From 2006 onwards, he worked for 5 years as a technical consultant for glass, windows and facades in the Technical Competence Centre of the Glazier Trade at the Federal Guild Association of the Glazier Trade and was also active in various standardization committees and working groups. Since 2011 he has been employed in the application technology department of an internationally active glass manufacturer and glass processor and is responsible for national and international project consulting (D/A/CH - UK - Scandinavia - USA). In addition, Steffen is involved in standardization work, supervises internal and external training courses, and collaborates in various associations. Since 2015 he has been head of the safety glass and glass dimensioning working group of the German Flat Glass Association.
